About Me
Hey there, I’m Shaun, a nonbinary, queer, fat-identified, and radical therapist who supports clients in finding and embracing their most authentic selves.
I model authenticity in my work by being myself in our sessions. Clients often describe my style as direct yet kind, and they find it refreshing. I don’t force eye contact in session; you’ll find me using fidget toys and sometimes gazing out the window off-screen. I encourage you to also do what feels right for your body while remaining present in our work together.
Outside of work, I spend my time hiking a lot, playing video games, watching horror movies, and writing poetry. I enjoy time with my chosen family and in community spaces that align with my LGBTQ+ and spiritual identities.

Who I Work With
Most of my training is focused on the transgender-specific and overall LGBTQ+ population, trauma-informed care, and OCD. I enjoy working with teens and adults. I also tend to naturally attract a lot of neurodivergent, chronically ill/disabled, kink/ENM, Pagan/witchy types, and folks with alternative lifestyles. I am certified in Adventure-Based Counseling and offer sessions outdoors at local parks.

How I Work
The main frameworks I draw upon include IFS/parts work, ERP/exposure therapy, narrative therapy, and adventure/nature therapy. I operate from feminist, systems, and attachment lenses.
Being a radical therapist and person means that I believe many mental health issues stem from oppressive societal structures and that I do my best to work from an anti-oppressive framework. Our work will resemble dismantling power hierarchies in your life, challenging old beliefs, unmasking, deconstructing shame, making changes in your environment, creating personal empowerment, relearning safety and autonomy, and arriving at the wisdom that systemic oppression is fought with systemic support.
Sessions may seem nontraditional and include going outdoors, doing experiential or holistic activities, using curse words, taking our shoes off, eating a snack, metaphors, cloud-gazing, shadow work, or silence. Who knows! If preferred, clients can have a more structured approach; I encourage clients to advocate for their needs and show up in all their parts (including the whimsical and weird ones!)
