Andrea has 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She has supported individuals and families from diverse backgrounds who are struggling with traumatic experiences, depression, behavioral issues, mood dysregulation, attachment disruption, relationship issues, parenting skills, and family dynamics.

 

Andrea is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), both of which support the process of healing from trauma. Andrea received a Master’s in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from Boston College.

Andrea’s clinical approach is to create an accepting and supportive space for people to build on their own strength, resiliency and ability to live healthy and happy lives. She aims to provide a culturally responsive and holistic approach by exploring strengths, resiliencies, support systems, cultural values and upbringing to guide the therapeutic process.

Andrea comes from a Mexican-American family and is fluent in Spanish. She’s passionate about equity, identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community, and loves spending time with her family and friends.
