Cindy Markison

Cindy received her undergraduate degree in social work at St. Olaf College and her master’s in social work at the University of Minnesota.  She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the mental health field for over 15 years.  She has experience working with adolescents, young adults, and individuals in a variety of settings including day treatment, community-based, school based, in-home, and outpatient clinics. She is inspired by the power that lives within each person’s innate ability to heal when given the opportunity and space that is needed.  Cindy has a particular interest in working with people impacted by domestic violence.  She also strives to engage in therapy services from an anti-oppressive and anti-racist lens. Cindy is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses this intervention whenever possible to treat symptoms of trauma.  In her free time she can usually be found outside, enjoying time with family, or working on a jigsaw puzzle.
